Notes on Emmeline Rigby.

PAST/FAMILY:
Rigby grew up as ‘one of the lads’
Her brothers were all boy scouts and determined not to be left out, Rigby insisted that she was included in the activities too.
She learned some skills from her older brothers, but became a girl scout at the age of eleven, up until her sixteenth birthday.
Due to this she’s pretty adept at living in the woods, and feels far more comfortable there. She doesn’t like being in the main city and doesn’t particularly want to stay for long.
At school she was also on the track team and played soccer when she was younger too.
Has/had a dog named ‘Inca’
Rigby has three brothers:
1. Dominic - six years her senior, very studious and mature but in a kinda, humble way. Eventually becomes a doctor.
2. Henry - four years her senior, liked to torment his younger siblings when they were younger. Is the trouble maker of the family, always getting calls from the Principal’s office.
3. Rudy - two years younger than her, Rudy’s the closest to Rigby. He was always hanging around, wanting to play with her and Cai when they were kids.
Her parents are called Alexander and Eleanor Rigby (nee DuChamp) They met when El was studying finance at college and frequented the coffee house that Alex then worked at.
El would joke that she’d had four boys instead of three. To appease her, Rigby sometimes engaged in ‘girly’ activities with her mother, something she appreciated immensely.
They were a very close unit and Rigby misses them every day. She still has no idea what befell the majority of her family (~~she possibly witnessed the death of one family member~~). For the most part she’d rather not know, and she still suffers from violent nightmares.

She isn’t exactly a ‘lady’ but Rigby is rather sweet. She’s far more outgoing than she looks, and her friendliness and open nature leave her susceptible to getting hurt. She’s willing to talk to anyone, and always has been. Growing up with several brothers has a way of forcing the shyness out of you.
Rigby is a virgin. She’s had love interests in the past but sex isn’t something that’s ever particularly interested her.
MORDECAI:
Rigby and Mordecai grew up together as next door neighbours after Cai moved into his Uncle and Aunt’s house.
The only thing Rigby cares about anymore in this post apocalyptic place is Mordecai. She openly admits this to him. He is both her greatest strength and her biggest weakness.
Rigby can be relied on to balance Cai’s morbidity with perhaps a little more optimistic insight.
In a family so large, she had to fight for what she could get. Due to this Rigby isn’t particularly inclined to sharing and is pretty possessive of what she claims is hers. Cai falls under this category.
For the most part, Rigby’s main aims these days are to stay alive and keep Cai safe and happy.
